These character codes each operate as subset to the Modeling seriesThey represent two or three different parameters that can be retraced in each work: Surface (textures), Position (zenith & nadir) and Phase (coagulation, thickening or separation) Instead of using a name or title for each specific work in the Modeling series, I assign one of these codes.

The method I use to assign a code to each work is quite personal, but the basics of identifying the parameters  are clear.
the position marker is determined by the position of the glass in relation to the camera. I use the terms zenith & nadir (and not up & down) because they specifically include the position of the observer*
the phase marker is based on the type of physical reaction that occurs in the glass  (coagulation, thickening or separation) More types of reactions exist, but I have not allocated these phases in relation to the existing three.
the surface marker pinpoints the phase (coagulation, thickening or separation) but articulates where in this phase the process is.

* Nadir: the point on the celestial sphere directly beneath a given position or observer and diametrically opposite the zenith. Zenith is the point on the celestial sphere vertically above a given position or observer
